His Love Never Fails

Worshiping God even when it may be difficult.

Why do Christians lift their hands?

Why do we close our eyes and sing as long as we can?

Why do we jump, clap our hands or even dance?

Because we can.

It doesn’t surprise me that at times people may enter our worship meetings and be filled with questions. Let’s face it, it looks strange. But that’s ok, we are called to be different. To me worship means just that, responding to God’s love despite how strange it may seem. Whether that’s through singing loud and lifting your hands or giving away your belongings or changing your career path or leaving your comfortable home to tell people on the other side of the world about Christ. There are many ways to worship God and when we do not conform to the patterns of this world that’s exactly what happens (Romans 12:2).

Yet there is something so special about corporate worship, when we come together as a body to praise and worship God. It is even more important when as a body we are constantly praying for each, providing for each other, encouraging each other through trails, and then come together to celebrate.

To celebrate that the God we serve is unchanging, is love, is holy, and is sovereign.

And so, if you lift your hands and scream at a football game, if you sing and dance at a party, if you laugh and jump while playing a game. Why would you not respond to who God is and what He has done in an even more powerful way, with everything you are?

I really enjoyed reading this. It is very encouraging. Just what I needed to read as I ask myself whether I should go drive for 30 minutes to prepare for God’s worship at a church building or stay home and relax. Keep the posts coming. 🙂
